Development of a fluorescence detector for the laser cooling at SIS 100 and experiments with detection systems and precision-HV-systems in FAIR phase-0

The group at Münster has been developing fluroescence detectors operating in a wide wavelength range from the near infrared up to the extreme UV regime as well as equipment for ultra-precise high voltage measurements for use in laser spectroscopy experiments at the storage rings ESR and CRYRING and for the trap experiment SPECTRAP for many years.  Based on this experience the goal of the current project is to develop a detector suitable for wavelengths ranging from the extreme UV to the soft x-ray regime (photon energies between 100 eV and 3 keV) for use in the Laser Cooling at SIS100 project. While in a first stage the detection will be optimized for efficiency and timing only, a second goal is to have an energy resolved detection using aberration-corrected laminar-type diffraction gratings. Besides this new development the project is geared towards the operation and the extension of the existing fluorescence detection systems at ESR, CRYRING and SPECTRAP in the FAIR Phase-0 experiments.
