Sweden in FAIR

Sweden signed the FAIR Convention on 4th October 2010 in Wiesbaden.

Sweden is a member of the FAIRNord Consortium represented as the shareholder by the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet). The FAIRNord Consortium holds 1.5 per cent of the total FAIR shares.

Swedish nuclear physicists, atomic physicists and theoretical physicists at the Universities of Lund, Uppsala and Stockholm as well as the KTH Royal Institute of Technology and the Chalmers University of Technology participate in the FAIR project focusing on APPA, NUSTAR and PANDA experiments. As one of its in-kind contributions, Sweden provided the CRYRING, a storage ring for ions at very low and medium energies, which is now being installed at GSI and will be part of the FLAIR research collaboration.
