The NUSTAR Annual Meeting 2016 was held at GSI in the week February 29 to March 4. With about 200 international participants the attendance was large again this year.

In January 2016, the NUSTAR Council members re-elected Nasser Kalantar-Nayestanaki (KVI-CART / Univ. of Groningen) and Alison Bruce (Univ. of Brighton) as members of the NUSTAR Board of Representatives (BR) for a second two-year term.

On Thursday, February 11, the large acceptance dipole magnet GLAD was moved from its present location into Cave C of GSI. With the help of air cushions, the 110-ton ALADIN magnet was first moved out of the experimental cave in order to make place for the 60-ton successor.

The LaSpec Collaboration elected Iain Moore (University of Jyvaskyla, Finland) and Wilfried Nörtershäuser (TU Darmstadt, Germany) as Spokesperson and Deputy Spokesperson, respectively.

First section of superconducting continuous wave linac delivered to GSI

On November 4-6, an international workshop on experiments with high-resolution spectrometers and separators was held at GSI. The meeting was organized by an expert team composed by scientists from Japan, USA, and Europe.

The GLAD magnet for the R3B experiment arrived at GSI and it was transported close to Cave C where initial tests will be conducted before moving it to its position within Cave C.
