Doctoral students pursuing a doctoral degree at a German university can apply to this DAAD funding to support their research experience with a collaborator abroad.

The GET_INvolved SAINTS/iThemba LABS Programme offers opportunities for a maximum of three (3) candidates. The research stay will be up to 6 months. This internship will take place at GSI/FAIR Darmstadt, Germany. Application deadline 25 Feb 2022.

DAAD Young Talents Programme Line A 2022 is open for applications until 01 April 2022. Short term and medium term stays can be funded . Highly qualified Russian postdoctoral researchers (postdocs), doctoral candidates, graduates (including engineers) and MSc students eligible.

The aim of the program is to enable new research collaborations, to foster knowledge exchange, and to explore new or emerging research topics in the field of information and data sciences. The program addresses researchers in both academia and in industry whose research has a strong link to the (applied) information and data sciences. It offers researchers the opportunity to get to know the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers.

At the workshop "Academia meets Business", the Jožef Stefan Institute and the University of Ljubljana signed a GET_INvolved Partnership agreement with GSI/FAIR leading to more opportunities for training of future scientist and engineers. Two Indian early-stage researchers secured the first-ever Industrial fellowship award to perform applied research with Industrial applications at the FAIR facility together with the scientists at GSI through the Indo-German Science and Technological Center (IGSTC).
