Since its start 16 months ago, the GET_INvolved programme helped 46 students and early-stage researchers to start their internship, traineeship, sandwich Ph.D. or postdoc at GSI Helmholtz Center for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt, Germany. The candidates came from 32 institutes and 15 countries all over the world.
Here at GSI, they worked (or are still working) on various research projects. The projects are embedded with the new accelerator facility FAIR, which is being constructed next to GSI and which will be linked to the existing GSI accelerators.
More than 500,000 Euros of third party funding for scholarships were acquired within the GET_INvolved programmes, and 9 agreements have been concluded with partner institutes. (mbe)
