The Institute of Modern Physics in Lanzhou (China) and the GSI Helmholtz Center in Darmstadt (Germany) celebrate their 40th anniversary of collaboration. This event will be celebrated in Beijing on Monday 4th of September 2017 followed by a Workshop for Storage Ring Physics and Accelerator Technologies (September 5-8), where the successes in the past as well as the present research and possible future collaborations shall be presented and discussed. The Plasma Physics program at FAIR, one essential part of the FAIR project, will exploit a dedicated beamline and target area with unprecedented ion intensities.
