Physicist or Computer Scientist (m/w/d)

submission until 3 April, 2020

The successful applicant is expected to take a leading role in firmware development within the FPGA-based CBM readout framework. This encompasses not only firmware quality assurance, but also requires a conceptual understanding of the CBM DAQ architecture. As such, the candidate will be part of the CBM data acquisition group at GSI.

The firmware development in form of IP-blocks written in VHDL for Xilinx FPGAs is handled by collaborating CBM groups at various local and remote sites. In particular, a global firmware development process needs to be implemented, which will allow to enforce best coding practices and to generate design documentation.
