Saturday Morning Physics at FAIR and GSI

Learning physics instead of sleeping late: Students curious about FAIR

We are made of stardust - to learn more about this, almost 300 high school students ("Oberstufe") came today to the FAIR construction site and to GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research, after having listened to a talk at Technical University of Darmstadt on Supernovae, given by Professor Karlheinz Langanke, GSI.

Information about FAIR were given in the Testing Hall, where the students could glance at the CRYRING components and at one of the first FAIR magnets, built for the Super Fragment Separator.
