Those wanting to try out a particle accelerator in a salad bowl or wishing to see the fatal effect of a vacuum on a chocolate marshmallow, should not miss the annual Hessen-Tag festival, which is taking place in Bensheim this year. Everybody can participate in the experiments at the “Hesse creates knowledge!” stand and, for example, try out the marble particle accelerator or admire cosmic particle showers in the cloud chamber. There is also information about research at and with FAIR and GSI, HIC for FAIR and HGS-HIRe. The stand on Berliner Ring in Bensheim is open between 10 am and 7 pm from 6 to 15 June 2014.
