NUSTAR Seminar: Lise-Lotte Andersson for the TASISpec-TASCA collaboration, GSI and HIM, Mainz, "Multi-Coincidence Spectroscopy of Superheavy Nuclei", Theory Seminar Room, 11:00 am, GSI

Speaker: Lise-Lotte Andersson for the TASISpec-TASCA collaboration

Helmholtz Institute Mainz, Mainz, Germany
GSI Helmholtzzentrum f¨ur Schwerionenforschung GmbH, Darmstadt, Germany

Multi-coincidence spectroscopy between implants and their subsequent decay such as X-rays, gamma-rays and various charged particles is essential to entangle the complex structure and decay of heavy and superheavy nuclei. To achieve such experimental details, highly segmented arrays of Ge and charged particle detectors are required.
For the study of heavy to superheavy nuclei at GSI the TASCA and SHIP separators are each equipped with such detector systems. One recent upgrade is TASISpec (TAsca in Small Image mode Spectroscopy). The array comprises a compact cube of double sided silicon strip detectors surrounded by five composite Ge detectors with a total of 23 Ge crystals.
Results from tests and experiments using TASISpec will be provided together with GEANT4 simulations of the setup and theoretical nuclear structure predictions. Future plans will be outlined.
